There are four types of tocotrienols: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Research has found that the two most potent forms of tocotrienols are delta and gamma T3. Black Cumin Seed Oil + contains 90% delta and 10% gamma-T3; a structure unique to annatto and cannot be found in palm oil and rice bran, which are some of the richest sources of tocotrienols. Combined tocotrienol and tocopherol concentrates from these oils, referred to as “tocotrienol-rich fractions,” usually contain 30-50% tocopherols; however, the most effective concentrates for reducing oxidative indicators and supporting cardiovascular health in human studies are those with low tocopherols and high tocotrienols.
Additionally, black cumin seed oil has been added to this supplement due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The combination of both has been shown to have a variety of health benefits.
One study stated that tocotrienols have been shown to have cholesterol lowering effects which additionally helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
